Accessible Technology Room

Case-Geyer room 555e contains two workstations equipped with adaptive technology hardware and software to aid our users. The room is locked but users may check out a key at the Circulation Desk on Level 3.

The two PC workstations are equipped with:

  • 24" high resolution monitors
  • Zoom Text Large Print Keyboards
  • Sennheiser PC131 headsets (headphones and microphone)
  • Dragon NaturallySpeaking voice recognition software, 9.5
  • ABBYY FineReader Pro 8.0.0.706
  • Natural Voice Text to Speech Reader 3.6
  • NaturalReader 6.5 Enterprise Value Pack
  • Kurzweil 1000 v. 9.0 with MP3 for visually impaired (temporarily unavailable)
  • Kurzweil 3000 for Windows B/W Lab Pack for individuals with learning disabilities (temporarily unavailable)
  • FreeMind for mind mapping. (temporarily unavailable)

A scanner is available for conversion of printed text to digital. The installed software can then "read" the text for the user.

2 Bose QuietComfort® 2 Acoustic Noise Cancelling® headphones and 4 High quality microphones are available for checkout at the Circulation Desk on Level 3.
