The book was compiled by Justin Beebe, before 1815, while he was a teacher in Connecticut. Beebe moved from Connecticut to East Hamilton in 1815, owning the farm later owned by the Lamb Brothers.
One typed letter signed by A. Einstein on Emergency Committee of Atomic Scientists letterhead. The form fundraising letter, addressed to "Dear Friend," discusses Einstein's "grave concerns" about the unsettled and bitter state of international relations in 1948, and the impact that atomic discoveries could have if these power struggles continue into the future.
Given to George E. Merrill by Gen. Oliver, the composer, April 30, 1885.
