Aims to be the definitive resource for tracking public opinion on campaigns and legislative and policy issues. Covers White House, Senate, House and gubernatorial races; and approval ratings and miscellaneous polling data on the president, vice president, Congress, the federal government in general, the media, and other individuals and institutions that are often evaluated in national poll

Program on International Policy Attitudes
PIPA is a joint program of the Center on Policy Attitudes (COPA) and the Center for International and Security Studies at Maryland (CISSM), School of Public Affairs, University of Maryland. American opinion toward international issues from a variety of polling sources (their own, Zogby, Fox, etc.). For each poll use can view an introduction essays with links to questions, including sample size, dates, and margin of error.

Odum Archive Dataverse
Archive of Harris (1962- ) and other polls maintained at the Odum Institute for Research in Social Science at the University of North Carolina. Check " within this collection" box next to the search input window.

Polling Report.com
Updated frequently with data from a variety of sources, including Gallup, Harris, Yankelovich, Princeton Survey Research Associates, network news polls. Maintained by the publishers of the magazine Polling Report.

Public Agenda Online

General Social Survey
Contains a standard 'core' of demographic, behavioral, and attitudinal questions, plus topics of special interest. Many of the core questions have remained unchanged since 1972 to facilitate time-trend studies. Polls U.S. Data available for download. Also available as part of the SDA Statistical Documentation and Analysis Archive at UC Berkeley, which allows online analysis.

 

International Polls

Pew Global Attitudes Project
Created with the intent to gauge public attitudes toward globalization, democracy, and a number of other crucial issues. To accomplish this task, they have conducted over 90,000 interviews in 57 countries over the past few years. So far, their work has yielded a number of intriguing reports which deal with subjects such as Islamic extremism, the war in Iraq, and prosperity in China. Visitors can view all of these reports on the site, and also take a look at the datasets used to craft each report. .

European Social Survey
A social survey designed to chart and explain the interaction between Europe's changing institutions and the attitudes, beliefs and behaviour patterns of its diverse populations. Free registration. Data downloads in SAS, SPSS, POR, STATA, Statistica, NSDstat, Dbase, and a variety of delimited text formats. For the data savy only.

European Public Opinion
Data from several public opinion polls conducted regularly by the European Union. Known as the Eurobarometer.

JPOLL (Japan)
"Contains more than 10,000 public opinion questions and the respective responses from Japan's major survey research sources. These studies cover social, political, and economic topics throughout the current decade. Users can search for public opinion questions using keywords, topics, dates, and organizations as search criteria". (webpage 4/22/02). Most material translated from the original Japanese by the Roper Center for Public Opinion Research. Free access, but must register.

Latinobarometer
Annual public opinion survey(1995- ) of 18 Latin America countries. Data for most recent 3 survyes must be purchased; older data available for free. Some older data part of a private collection and must be purchased. Some data available in Polling the Nation (above)

Latin American Public Opinion Project (LAPOP)
Hosted at Vanderbilt University. Data includes the Amercas Barometer, a survey of democratic public opinion and behavior. Free access to reports and simple data analysis online (read the questionaires!). Access to raw data by subscription only. CU does not subscribe.
