Colgate's E-Journal Portal

Online coverage: Years of full text availability vary by title and/or by publisher.
Title coverage: This database lists all the ejournals that the Colgate community has access to including ejournals in full text databases such as Ebsco Search Premier, individual institutional subscriptions from publisher's websites, and selected free ejournals.
License restrictions: Authorized users include current Colgate faculty, staff, and students and visitors who are using computers within the Colgate Libraries.
Remote access may not available from links in this list. Many journals are available to authorized users from locations off campus. If remote access links do not work for a title, search for the journal title in Mondo, the online catalog.

Not everything is available in electronic full text

Much of the scholarly information students typically need to support research at Colgate is not yet available in electronic full text. The availability of full text e-journals depends on a number of factors including 1) whether the publisher offers that option, 2) how much electronic access costs, and 3) whether the publisher's license includes reasonable user restrictions and other legalese which we can live with. Establishing access to a journal typically requires negotiating changes on a three to fifteen page license.

Locating electronic full text articles

To find specific articles on any subject search one of the databases or print indexes described in the Find Articles section. Many of these databases provide links to some full text materials. If you are not sure what database to search ask a Reference Librarian.
Both print and electronic subscriptions are represented in Mondo. To find out if the library owns a journal, conduct a title search in the online catalog using the journal title as opposed to the title of the article. Limit to location serials and journals. Be sure to check the "Library has" field on each record to determine if the library owns the particular volume you want.

If the library does not own the journal or the volume you want, submit a request for the article to the Interlibrary Loan Department.

Includes titles from, JSTOR, Project Muse, BioOne, ACM Digital Library, ScienceDirect and others.; Journals NOT covered: This list does NOT cover all the full text titles available to us in databases such as Academic Search Premier, Academic Universe, etc.
