- Note:
- Please note that faculty submitting library reserves requests must:
- Provide full bibliographic citations for all materials submitted.
- Submit photocopy of articles or book chapters to be placed on electronic reserves, except for articles available online through the Colgate Libraries’ Journal Finder.
- Evaluate the need to seek copyright permission for each item and indicate the copyright status of each item submitted for library reserves.. See Copyright Compliance at left or Colgate Libraries Course Reserves webpages for information about copyright.
- Seek copyright permission when necessary and arrange for payment of required fees. The Libraries do not provide funds for this.
- Inform library reserves staff if they elect not to pay a required copyright permission fee or if copyright permission has been denied.
- Submit reserves materials in a timely fashion to ensure availability when needed by students. After all initial submissions for a semester have been processed, staff are normally able to make reserve items available to students within two business days of submission. Early in the semester, processing time is dependent upon the volume of work and may be considerably longer.
