COLGATE UNIVERSITY | BLACKBOARD | MOODLE | MY COLGATE | GMAIL : STUDENTS / FACULTY & STAFF

RefWorks is a service offered by the Colgate University Libraries to all Colgate students, faculty and staff.  You can use RefWorks to create your own personal databases by entering your own references and by importing references from the catalog and many of the online databases to which the Colgate Libraries subscribe.  You can use these references in writing papers and automatically format the notes and the bibliography in seconds.  As a Web-based product, RefWorks is available across various platforms including Windows and Macintosh computers.  Your RefWorks databases are stored on the Web and can be accessed by you from anywhere you can access the Web.

Refworks is integrated with Microsoft Word (either 2003 or 2007 for Windows or 2008 for Macintosh) via the Write'n'cite plug-in which can be downloaded from the tools menu once you have logged in and is installed on all the computers in the Libraries.

The Colgate Libraries have a site license to RefWorks, and there is no cost to individual Colgate users.  To register for your account you must be logged in to the Colgate network.  Once registered, you can use the account from anywhere in the world using the group code which you get when you register or you can get from Reference.
