The Conrad Collection includes manuscripts, proof copy, correspondence, early editions, and memorabilia of the noted Polish/English writer (1857-1924).  Manuscript and proof include:

 

Outgoing correspondence to:  Edward Garnett; T. Fisher Unwin; John Quinn; Ford Maddox Ford; J. B. Pinker; Norman Douglas; Dr. MacKintosh; Harper & Brothers; Grant Wilson; Sidney Colvin; Metheun & Co.; John Irving; MacDonald Hastings

Memorabilia include: Conrad's discharge certificate from the "Loch Etive" (April 24, 1881); Conrad's discharge certificate from the "Tilkhurst" (June 18, 1886); ink sketch of the Rover by Conrad, with a note by Jesse Conrad; an appointment book kept by Mrs. Doubleday during Conrad's visit to America; original manuscript for Curle's Life of Conrad; list of the ships Conrad served on, sent to Curle by Eugene Laxton; Walter Tittle drawing of Conrad, along with third trial proof of same; three telegrams congratulating Conrad on his marriage; theatre bill for MacDonald Hasting's production of Victory, March 26, 1919; Roger Singleton Garnett's signed typescript detailing the composition of Under Western Eyes.
