This module covers how to search for library materials using Encore and the Classic Catalog

When you have completed this module you should be able to:

  • recognize that Encore and the Classic Catalog contain more than books
  • find books on a topic using an Encore keyword search
  • find books by title, author, or subject heading the Classic Catalog
  • find journals by using a Journal Title search
  • identify the location of books or journals
  • browse by call number
  • find 'reserve' items using a Course Reserve search
  • request an item using the LASR (Library Automated Storage Retrieval) service
  • request a book using ConnectNY
