Library Automated Storage & Retrieval

What is LASR?

LASR is an Automated Storage and Retrieval System housed in Case Library. It provides quick access to a three-story, computer-managed storage system with a capacity for 550,000 additional items.  

LASR Retrieval Hours:
Mon - Thurs              8:30a-1:30a
Friday                       8:30a-9:30p
Saturday                  10:30a-9:30p
Sunday                    10:30a-1:30a

What materials are in LASR?

  • Items cataloged in the Dewey Decimal System
  • Selected low use items in the Library of Congress System
  • Periodicals (except current issues)
  • Music
  • Films
  • Microforms

How do I request items from LASR?

Requests can be made directly from the online record. Requested items will be available for patron pick-up at the Circulation Desk at Case-Geyer Library within 15 minutes of request during normal operational hours.

For requests initiated using Encore - click the "Request from LASR" button, supply your name on the next screen, and the item will be delivered to the Circulation Desk for pick-up.
